Abstract

In the thyroid gland of Lissemys punctata punctata, the localization of acid and alkaline phosphatases is like mammals except that in this animal, the colloidal substance also exhibits acid phosphatase reaction.

Seasonal changes in the acid and alkaline phosphatase localization and activity are also observed. The reaction of these enzymes is prominent during September to mid December.
