Abstract

Coagulopathy-related diffuse bleeding is difficult to manage. Any coagulation factor or procoagulant gets lost through the solution of continuity of the vascular system. Coagulopathy management, therefore, should be timed after source control. Coagulopathies per se are not lethal. An implication of the anatomic and physiologic differences between macro-circulation and microcirculation is that parenchymal bleeding differs from extra parenchymal bleeding, which is what kills fast in most cases.
