To determine the best planting date of flax crop under the conditions of Wasit province in southern Iraq with different levels of nitrogen fertilization and ascorbic acid, a field experiment was conducted in the 2019-2020 agricultural season by using split- split plots design. The experiment included a study of three planting dates (10 Oct, 30 Oct and 20 Nov) as main plots, while three levels of nitrogen (100, 200, and 300 kg.ha-1) as sub-plots and the ascorbic levels were (0, 200, and 400 mg. L-1) as sub-sub plots. The results of the study showed that the suitable planting date gives the best growth and seed yield on 10 Oct, while the nitrogen level of 200 kg. ha-1 recorded the best growth and yield, and the concentration of 200 mg. L-1 of ascorbic recorded the best seed yield. The interactions between combined factors showed a significant effect on the growth and yield of flax seeds, as the results showed that planting the crop on 10 Oct with 200 kg.ha-1 of nitrogen after planting and spraying the plant with ascorbic acid at a concentration of 200 mg. L-1 improves crop growth and gives the highest yield of seeds. We conclude that the best planting date of flax gives the highest seed yield in southern Iraq on 10 October, with 200 kg.ha-1 nitrogen fertilization with 200 mg. L-1 ascorbic acid spraying.
