The status and distribution of fishes in the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, Uttar Pradesh were studied. Numbers of aquatic resources in the form of wetlands, swamps, nallas and rivers are present in the sanctuary. These aqua resources having rich fish diversity belong to S orders, 23 fámilies and 79 species showini niega biodiversity of treshsater fishes in the sanctuary. Cyprinidae iš most dominant famik followed by Bagridae. Ecological Status of these fishes exhibits 6.34% fish population facing endangered. 21.52% vulnerable and 41.77% are rare in freshwater ecosystems of India.
