Abstract

The relocation of merchants and parking at Borobudur Temple is part of the Indonesian government's strategic plan to manage the Borobudur Temple area. Community participation is very important in this activity, especially in the implementation of environmental impact analysis. This study used a mixed descriptive method. The study took place from March 25 to March 28, 2021. There were three types of respondents: 56 representing the community living around the relocation plan, 59 representing merchants affected by the relocation, and 35 representing land owners who will be relocated. According to the survey results, the community in general has a favorable opinion of the overall project plan, particularly among community groups/strata surrounding the project (78.6%) and landowners (96.7 percent). The public consultation activity, which took place on Thursday, January 28, 2021, yielded useful proposals and feedback. Members of the Environmental Impact Analysis Commission, consisting of 8 merchant representatives and 7 community representatives, were elected as community representatives at the event.

Some people have a favorable impression of the relocation project for merchant and visitor parking places at Borobudur Temple, while those who have a negative view develop better understanding after participating in the socialization of the Environmental Impact Analysis document preparation.
