Mobile Ad Hoc Networks may experience significant processing overhead while trying to detect multi-layer packet drop attacks (MANET). The majority of current efforts only take data packet drops into account while ignoring routing packet drops. Using mobile agents (MPDDMA), a method for precise detection of malicious multi-layer packet drop attacks is suggested in this paper. In this method, mobile agents are installed in each node to look for the malicious nodes' selective dropping of data and routing packets. The source node identities the nodes whose route request and route reply count significantly differs from others by a margin. The source node similarly recognizes nodes whose packet received count considerably varies from others by a different margin. Using these margin values and the MAC layer packet drop value as input variables, the source then uses a fuzzy logic decision model, returning the output as the probability of malicious (PrM). The outcomes of the experiments demonstrate that the MPDDMA approach improves detection accuracy and reduces packet losses.
