The study shows the findings of the physical and mechanical properties of waste badminton string fiber (WBSF). As the badminton strings cut off from the racquet, they remain debris and are replaced with new strings. So, the examination on WBSF will help in utilizing composite applications. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) technique is used to find the physical properties of WBSF. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) are used to find the polymeric structure of WBSF. The mechanical properties are carried out in a universal testing machine by direct tensile loading by varying the gauge length to 60 mm, 80 mm, and 100 mm. The test results of WBSF are compared with new fibers and the Young's modulus is calculated. The investigation of new and old fibers shows the tensile stress varies between 537.40 to 749.03 MPa. The microstructural investigation confirms that WBSF is the purest form of polyamide 6,6. Hence the results obtained guides a way for using WBSF in composite applications.
